My Garden

My house’s grounds contain a large selection of mature trees, acid-loving shrubs, and perennials. There are raised beds for vegetables, containers on my patio that house vegetables in season, and an herb garden that has enhanced many meals over the years. There are also areas that have been left to “go wild”, thus giving the far reaches of the yard a wooded look.

Some of the more interesting plants are:

Trees

European Beech
Sweet Gum
Flowering Cherry
Sugar Maple
American Dogwood
American Holly
Red Oak
Spruce
White Pine

Shrubs

Azalea
Rhododendron
Pieris
Japonica/quince
Barberry
Yew
Flaming Euonymous
Privet Hedge
Firethorn

Perennials

Coneflower
Black-eyed Susan
Daffodils
Roses
Phlox
Coriopsis
Bearded, Japanese, Siberian Iris
Hosta
Ferns
Clematis
